General Basics
 

 1  space is equal to the standard parking lot space for "(one) car"   / double wide, equals, the space for  "( two) cars 

Indoors- spaces are 10x10

 

 

 

"special needs spaces" will be discussed as needed by vendors"

Area sections, available as options for  "sponsorship needs"

( When Paid Parking  is applicable)

  • Each VENDOR entering The Centerpiece Marketplace must CHECK –IN at the gate.

  • Please provide your Drivers License  and Proof of Liability Insurance for your vehicle. ( when asked)  You will receive a parking pass for your vehicle.

  • Please display the pass in clear view. We do random parking pass and ID checks and if your ticket is clearly posted we usually do not need to interrupt your sales.

  •  Parking permits are required at all times by all patrons and vendors parking outside the vending areas. Additional Parking Permits are available for $3.00 per vehicle as space allows ( other wise parking will be in public area)

 

Our Marketplace Certificate_ does not relieve you of any tax, city state or other requirements, it is not a substitute for any city state or federal requirements.-  ( for information as to why we have a certificate- our purpose is to have each vendor "display their certificate", it assures all other vendors, that you agree to terms, you respect and support the Marketplace and it's other vendors, and you work with the understanding that you are responsible to  uphold the standards to maintain a professional environment. we use it for other administrative purposes - to confirm registered participants and their designated assigned person, Be sure your certificate list any persons you may have manning your vendor space.  It is not applicable to anything outside of the centerpiece marketplace participation.  The certificate has absolute no bearing, purpose nor intent, nor presumed intent  to compensate for your possession of or lack of possession of any required certification by city, local, state, or federal requirements.

 You are not exempt from being required to obtain the centerpiece marketplace certificate- because you have other certificate issued by city, local, state or federal permits or certifications.  Our certificate is part of our programmed structure.

 

Remember:  Operating under the General Liability policy, does not exempt your from person liability for you acts, actions, damage or any other liability which you incur or cause to be incurred.   Our policy does not provide any special, nor personal protections to any vendor.  It simply covers the general liability of the centerpiece marketplace,  and you will be expected to meet any debt or expense that is required for you to settle any damage you cause, create, incur or cause to happen directly and indirectly by your acts or actions.

If you feel you require any personal insurance to cover yourself and your customers, or any matter or concern or interest. it is your sole responsibility to obtain  such insurance. Under no circumstance will we assume liability for any acts, action, or resulting acts or actions caused by you, or your participation within the centerpiece Marketplace.  Our coverage does not insure any of your property or possession,  It does not cover your vehicle nor any damage or other concerns of your person items, person or property.  You must sign the Indemnity Hold harmless agreement form, which states you assume all of above mentioned responsibility and any unmentioned, that are caused by, the result of or in association with your participating in the centerpiece marketplace.   If you cannot accept these terms, then you may purchase individual Insurance via your insurance agent, or you may purchase a day policy from the Fair Ground, which start at approximately $120 per day per vendor.   for such coverage - Please contact  Louisiana State Fair Grounds administration.

If you have any personal merchant  or commercial insurance, please list it on the registration Form

If you have any vendor space function or activity, that conveys  any hidden or overt potential or risk factors, of which others may be put at risk or harm, then you need to notify us immediately.  Failure to do so, will make you not only liable for any results but you also face other damages.  this also includes any food poisoning or other resulting subsequence, but not limited to this- you are solely responsible for any and all liability that results.

Note:

We caution all vendors- if you sell food products, and/or  any and all products, beings sold, be sure your products are consumer safe and meet the standards required by city, state, federal and other agencies.  You are the sole responsible party for any and all products dispensed by you.


DRIVING SAFETY:


We are asking all vendors to be especially careful while driving in the Marketplace areas.  During Morning Set up, and Afternoon Break-down,  (5-10mph  - MAX.) If you have a large truck, you must have a "guide person", during Set up and break down, driving in the Market Area.

There is to be no vehicle traffic within the vending areas between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm

All pre registered vendor's vehicles must occupy the assigned space by 8:30 am, or the space will be forfeited, no credit, no refund. . Vendors are reminded not to leave until well after 4:00 pm.

 Once your vehicle is in your space (by 9:30 am) there is to be no moving vehicle back into market area, ( if emergency, we will assist you with doing so)


table space can not be guaranteed. Moral of the story, don't wait to register.

Buyer Guidelines


* The The Centerpiece Marketplace opens for buyers at 10am.

Any purchases made are private transactions between Buyer and Seller. Unlike our auctions, Centerpiece-Presentations "The Centerpiece Marketplace", will NOT be screening each item before it is sold and assumes no responsibility for the quality or condition of any goods or live stock purchased at the swap meet; Caveat Emptor. We anticipate quality or condition will not be an issue with sellers, however we can make no guarantee as to the quality or condition of any of the items for sale
 

Sellers Responsibility


  • Trash is your responsibility, No trash is to be left in and around a vendor sellers area when the conclusion of the event is reached, each vendor seller is responsible for disposing of their trash, we Access a trash feel, which goes to help provide garbage bind dumpsters, and their pick up and disposal. you are responsible to insure your trash is place inside of the trash dumpsters, and area around is not littered or items left on the grounds.


  • Seller is responsible to have met and to meet City Administrations Permits Standards of any required Permit compliance.


  • Seller of Food and food stuff products, is solely responsible for their product and any customer relations and liability concerning their product.

  • Seller is responsible to maintain their area in a clean neat and safe manner for the public, no trip hazards or unstable items are allowed, any of such incident concerning a seller and their space becomes the sole liability of seller for any and all incidents concerning their space and it's usage.

  • Seller is responsible and required, to have Vendor Identification Posted, with contact number.

  • Seller cannot "sublet booth" under any circumstance, without prior approval, any seller unable to utilize their space, can only get the booth re-assigned thru agreement and documentation thru Centerpiece-Presentations, "The Centerpiece Marketplace".

  • Seller Agrees to Security Fee, remember each seller is solely responsible for their own Security and that of their Products and space, we provide no individual security nor assign any to any sellers space,

  • You may discuss and denote any need for individuals security, and pursue agreement, with Centerpiece-Presentations, ( The Centerpiece Marketplace)  that such security is needed or desired, and it will be the sole responsibility and expense of the seller to secure such, personalized security: This General Security fee is assessed, for the Events general Security, We, contract hire and acquire this security (per event), we do not have nor employ Security as a part of Centerpiece-Presentations , we contract per-event with private security guards, for what is required and needed to provide as much basic and general security. Any
    further concerns for and of Security, you must see the City Police department for any detailed info in regards to such matters.
    Conduct

  • Seller is responsible to maintain a pleasant and enjoy environment and disposing within their selling space and their management of their selling space, to treat customer with a respectful greeting, and to be no discriminatory in their interacting with patrons. It is the sellers responsibility to insure that none who work with or for them, will be abuse nor rude to any patron. if there is any nature of disagreement or dispute, the seller will be considerate of the customer and seek to find an amicable resolve that leaves a happy and satisfied customer. This is a responsibility, not only to the customer and the other member sellers of the event, but to insure they themselves maintain a pleasant and welcoming environment for the shoppers and patrons of the event. We do not tolerate High pressure sale tactics nor harassing of any customer. Please at all times, be mindful that the patrons and buyers are your customers, and they are the participants that make this event successful for the member sellers as well as yourself. Any Vendor seller, may refuse and maintain the right to refuse to sell any item. but it is respectful and mindful that word of mouth is your greatest business asset, and you should care that your customers have great and positive things to convey about you and their shopping experience with you.

  • Seller cannot and will not consume any intoxicants during the course of their selling experience while being a member vendor of The Centerpiece Marketplace, this includes illicit drugs and alcoholic beverages. This is a business environment as much as it is an entertainment venue. But it is to remain with it's stature of integrity as a family natured event and what you do and how you do it conveys the integrity and we aspire to meet the highest level of business process and mannerism, to make our customers have a memorable and enjoyable experience. If you find this is something you cannot meet and abide by, then it is your right to state so NOW.. any violation or repeated complaints which come will and can be grounds for your expulsion from the event as a member seller participants in the Event.

  • Seller, You are solely responsible for your conduct and your actions !!!!

  • Some products, will we manage the allowance of  one vendors to sell a product that is the exact same product, within the indoors event.   Outdoors, we will be more accommodating to multiple vendors who sell the exact same product. as our space will allow such competitive vending. example:  if you sell cinnamon nuts,  One vendors inside can do so, the second vendor will have the options to set up outdoors.  if we use multiple indoors building, we will put one in each building.  It is mandatory and important that you list on your registration your product, and any relative info about it. This affords us to perform in a conflict free environment, and affords everyone the opportunity to participate.   This is also important, for Vendors, to be sure they make the right agreement to insure they have the space desired for their product.  We will offer- first come first serve, and first come may make agreements ahead for multiple events - in such case, the vendors will be required to make a deposit, to cover - their intent to reserve a continuing space in these terms.  It is to your benefit to register early if you have such concerns and interest.

We support long term contractual agreement, it affords assurance of participation and assist us in long term planning,. Failure to honor contract, can result in forfeiture of deposit.

 

Fair and Honest Business Practices

              Remember-You are responsible for your taxes - so be sure to do what you need to do, to meet any tax guidelines

 

  • No seller may knowing cheat or misrepresent any product or service, no seller may sell are bargain or trade any stolen or unlawful product. If seller provides and implies any warranty or exchange policy, then they must post the guidelines for such policy, and abide by its stated terms and provisions. Seller must not sell items and claim them to be other than what it is, i.e.: do not sell fake gold and claim it is genuine, or do not sell copy products and claim it to be the genuine name-sake product.. WE do not screen vendors for their sale of knock off products, that is solely the position and responsibility of the vendor to be responsible for and of any such products and any legal issues that may arise from the presentation and sale of such products. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Fair and Honest Business Practices, WE refer by suggestion that you seek consult, through, the City Better Business Bureau, or other agencies that may guide you in these matter to stay in legal compliance, if you care to, at your own expense you may consult and attorney to assist you.

  • Seller may not consume intoxicants or be nor appear intoxicated during their position as a vendor seller during the event, This is immediate ground for expulsion and no refund will be forth coming. Seller will shut down, and leave premise as ordered, and any act or actions to the contrary will be ground for legal
    intervention.

  • Seller will be liable for any damage incurred, to facilities, or to the image and integrity of the event, which implies and denotes, that charges may be brought against seller for any of such perceived or real damages.
     

  • Conduct Part 2


Drug Policy = ZERO TOLERANCE !

All City Ordinance are upheld.:  ( No Sagging ) ... ordinance if fully supported.  Vendors violating or attempting to violate this ordinance, will not be permitted to operate within the community event of "The Centerpiece Marketplace" - We reserve the right to refuse sales for any ordinance of guideline violation.

  • Seller will not engage in the sales, discussion, negotiation, distribution nor the acquiring of any type of illegal drug during the position as vendor seller, Seller may not consume, nor appear to be consuming any type of illegal drugs during their term as vendor seller at the Event, If a seller by legal conviction is known to be a drug dealer, seller will notify Centerpiece-Presentations Swap Meet, of such title, and a determination will be made thru discussion and review, and consulting with the Local Police department, for guidelines as to how to proceed, before a seller will be allowed to participate as a Vendor seller at the Event.
    Weapons

  • Seller may not be armed, nor posses a firearm during or at their sales space while conducting business at The Event, If a seller feels they need personal or higher level of security, they may hire their personal security, with the approval of Centerpiece-Presentation, and we may require a signed document from the city police, as to certify your need for such protection.

  • NO vendor may sell ammo nor fire arms during the event, If there are any events which engage to provide space for vendors to sell fire Arms, it will be with the compliance of the City Approval, and such area will be segregated from the general family section, and we will not allow vendor to sell ammo and firearms at the same locations, they may if allowed by law, have a separate space to sell ammo, and any of such space allocation, will without reserve requires, the vendor to contract with the City Police, to provide off duty or other officer presence, to insure compliance with the City and State laws regarding the sale of such articles at a Swap Meet Event, in the event the city or State does not have guidelines ,

  •  We ask that you respect the guidelines set forth in the agreement along with and in addition to, ... Safety and Public safety is our concern and our interest..

  • Please don't ask if there are exceptions, as there are no exceptions.. this include, antique weapons, or legal designated weapons.
    Knives: will be sold only at designated sections, and we will seek to insure that we comply with all city and state laws, as to the provision for any vendor that sells are trade in such products.


Sexually explicit Material:  

  • Sellers of such material, must be contained within an enclosed tent, in a designated section of the event, No minor allowed, and no person under the legal permissible age will be allowed within. you may design your display as discreet as possible, and you cannot display in visual image or reference to any sexual act within the exterior nor in public view, We ask that you think carefully, for a suitable manner of presentation and customer attraction, that fits within the guidelines of the Event. PLEASE ask for and get approval before any display is placed before your vendor space, and any signage is put up, for the customer attraction to your selling space.

  • NO events will be allowed that provide exotic dancing, or stripping, lap dance or any sexually explicit promotions.
     

 

Property Rules


Image, We ask the you, the seller vendor, take the time and design your display to be pleasing and attractive, and maintain safety within your presentations, we ask the you provide clean and neat environment, and if you sell used parts, it would be advisable to maintain them in a clean and neat manner, you will provide your own trash receptacle for disposal in front of your event /space, if you sell food product, and you must keep it clean and keep the trash dumped and sweep up any debris in your immediate area. Please see "Garbage disposal"


This event is being held as a space rental, event, and the property rule of the property owner will be observed and respected at all times.
anything requires the use of flammables and flame generating substance, will be placed based on what the Local Fire Department and the Property owner allows and will be placed in a designated area.
 

  • Power Generators, this will be maintained in a designated section and in the rear most part of the space, out and away from public walk way accessible area. any Power cords associated with such, must be taped down, and cannot be spread across public pathway, the power lines must come in thru the back of your space, and all lines within your space must be taped down securely and designated to customer view, as a potential trip hazard, and incidents or accidents involve anything concerning this is the sole liability of the vendor, without question and without reference, at no time and in no way will this be inferred to or implied that this is in any way a part of or responsibility of Centerpiece-Presentations / The Centerpiece Marketplace   For the Rental per event of these items, Please see our participating Vendor suppliers.
     

  • If your space includes Parking, your vehicle will be parked at the rear most of your event, with space between event and vehicle which, will be allotted for the additional fee, of space with vehicle allotment space included.


  • For vendors sellers, using Bar-B-Que and other flammables - We require they have a fire department approved fire extinguisher, that has a valid inspection certification.


Parking General

 

  • Parking is to be maintained only in designated parking areas All parking is fee based.
     

 

  • Hazardous Material: 

 

  • Will be handled only in fire department approved areas. and each member will be required to have an approval for sale letter from the Fire department concerning these nature of items, and the area for such must be approved by the Property owner and the Fire department.
    any damage and need of city services will be at the sole expense of the vendors, and any damages will be the sole responsibility of the vendor, without any implication or reference to Centerpiece-Presentations/The Centerpiece Marketplace

  • MSDS must be posted in area, and basic first aid kit is to be on premises provided by vendor.
    PERSONAL LIABILITY

  • EACH AND EVERY VENDOR AND THE VENDOR ASSISTANTS OR EMPLOYEES, ARE THE SOLE LIABILITY OF THE VENDOR, AND THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE VENDOR, Vendor Sellers are solely and without reserve responsible for their space and what they are selling and the result that may arise from their sales or their space causing any injury or damage to any patron customer visitor, to the event. Vendor is responsible for any and all customer issues concerning their products, sales and service, Vendors is responsible for the conduct of it's employees, assistants and for themselves, to comply to all guidelines and the fair, honest and rightful regard of all other vendors. Vendor sellers are responsible for any and all concerns relative to their space and seller position and distributor of products or services while a participating member of this event.
     

  • Restricted Items 1.
    Toxic chemicals / stolen or illegally obtained items / controlled substances / substance known to cause public harm / any items that requires a certification by seller and seller does not have a certification to sell said products / spoiled or out of date food products / alcoholic beverages / Drugs, home grown or home made /
     

  • Restricted items 2
    No sales of firearms, pyrotechnics, ammunition, explosives, alcoholic beverages, pornography, drug paraphernalia, medicines, drinks or food, or any contraband, shall be made by daily sellers on the swap meet licensee's premises; except the sale of food or drink prepared on the premises where the seller thereof has applied for and obtained the necessary Health Department permits and snack bar or restaurant business license; or where such sale of food and drink only involves packaged or canned goods obtained from another licensed and regulated business. In addition, any animals that are sold at a swap meet shall be sold in accordance with the rules and regulations established by City/ County Animal Control and are subject to their inspection. Animals shall be kept in a shaded area, and shall have food and water immediately available.

NO WEAPONS ALLOWED  ON PREMISE - NOT  BY  PATRONS & NOT  BY VENDORS.
 

  • If you have a product that you have question about, pleases contact us, we will provide you the direction to the nearest legal authority who can advise you.
    any item on the list that provision are made, such as Guns and Ammo, Adult material, please see the section which refers to these Items
     

  • Centerpiece-Presentations /The Centerpiece Marketplace, assume no responsibility for any vendor, beyond the renting of space, and providing the space vendor rents as being the space vendor receives.

 


Pls. Read Insure you have read and understand this document fully, as you are solely Liable for any and all concerns related to you as a Vendor seller, and the vendor space that you are renting. It is your sole and independent responsibility to abide by these guidelines and rules, and to employ good judgment in your acts and actions, if you have questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

I  AGREE

Please Read and Sign  Attach this  document to your Completed registration Form as a Vendor Seller Applicant and proceed with your Registration Process.

  • Read complete The Centerpiece Marketplace Agreement  and Print a copy for your reference.
  • Complete the check off List, by following the link on the forms section page, for the Agreement Items, this form designating you have read and understand and agree to the terms. ( a signed copy must be retained with your agreement)
  • You must complete and  sign a  Release of  Liability , and Hold Harmless Indemnity  agreement.  Releasing Centerpiece-Presentations / Real Life Expressions LLC. from any and all liability for you and your actions and indemnity agreement, Holding Harmless Centerpiece-Presentations /Real Life Expressions, and all of it's representatives including but not limited to the Facility owners. 
  • Please be informed, you are responsible  for your products, services, venue engagements and actions,  and the result that any of your actions, products, services or any act caused by you and your participation and your participating assistants. within this event, upon the property the event is being held. You must know, and understand, you are responsible for actions of any agent or representation employed or engaged in the employ of any  and all of your concerns, as well as any employees they may engage or employ in and on your behalf as the vendor of the signed agreement..  this agreement is mandatory, It designates, without exception, that you accept liability for any and all damage and/or injury caused to property and/or customers, by your services, products or actions,  and any one you engage to assist, service, or those whom they may acquire to assist or service in and on your behalf. there are no exceptions to this requirement, within this declaration.  Your agreement and signature on the Agreement is your acceptance of these terms.     
  • Insure you have all your city permit concerns in order ( Centerpiece-Presentations, swap meet permit, is not associated nor related to any city, state or other permits )
  • Secure a swap meet , Vendor permit
  •   We do not provide individual personal liability coverage to vendors, nor participants, by any term, or any means.  we will however, make every effort, to inspect compliance to our general standards, and what is required by our general facility liability, to insure we meet with the standards of our policy and the regulations of the Event venue owner, as well as maintain our operations within the status of city regulations and city and state  laws
